Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu is poised to watch the season finale in the English Premier League on Sunday as title chasing Liverpool play their last game of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers reports Prime Business Africa.
Kanu is a lifelong Liverpool fans since age 7 and is set to cheer his team as they seek to usurp champions Manchester City. City will face off against Aston Villa.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelOnly on Wednesday Kanu told the judge of the Federal High Court Abuja, Binta Murtala Nyako that he is an avid fan of the Reds after talks with Kanu’s legal counsel Mike Ozhekhome had centered on the Department of State Services (DSS) not allowing Ozhekhome and other counsels unhindered access to the IPOB leader.
Nyako had jokingly mentioned that she was a fan of Liverpool and asked Ozekhome which club was his favourite. Ozekhome replied that he was also a Liverpool fan.
Nyako then asked the Nigerian – British activist Kanu if he was a fan of Chelsea Football Club as he dons a particular designer outfit to court.
Kanu responded, “My team is Liverpool even from age of seven.”
The judge then then ordered the DSS legal director who was in court to allow Kanu to watch the matches of his favourite football club.
Kanu was standing trial on Wednesday albeit he was not granted the much expected bail by the Court.
Both the Reds and City go into the final games of the season with 89 and 90 points respectively.
Liverpool are still in the hunt for a quadruple and will play in the UEFA Champions League final on May 28 against Real Madrid.
