The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has teamed up with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) in an effort to combat corruption within procurement processes.
Shintema Binga, ICPC’s Head of Procurement, emphasized the necessity of integrity, stating, “Our partnership aims to bring contractors up to speed with the required integrity in procurement processes.”

He further expanded on the initiative, stating, “We’re extending our efforts beyond ICPC-contracted parties to uphold business integrity across various sectors.”

Victoria Akai, ACCI’s Director-General, emphasized the significance of ethical procurement practices in both public and private sectors. “Our program aims to promote compliance with established procurement practices, fostering transparency and governance,” she asserted.
Lola Adekanye, Country Director of the Centre for International Private Enterprise, stressed the joint responsibility of public and private sectors in combatting corruption. “We’re not merely aiming to eliminate corruption; instead, we’re reinforcing values that fortify us against it,” Adekanye remarked, highlighting the importance of business ethics in fostering competitive markets and robust democracies globally.
