Julius OkorieSouth Africa coach, Hugo Broos, is resisting the temptation to be over ambitious in his forthcoming World Cup clash against Nigeria on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Broos and his Bafana Bafana squad are expected in the country on Wednesday, baring last minute hitches ahead of the encounter.

Without going further, his submission implies he hopes to play for a draw against Eagles in Uyo and hopefully claim the three points against Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein, on June 11.
So far in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Bafana Bafana have recorded one win and one defeat in two games. This has left them in the second spot in Group C, with three points, a point below first-placed Rwanda and a point above third-placed Nigeria.
Rwanda currently leads the group. In spite of that, Nigeria and South Africa have been tipped to advance from the group.
Like Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, who had to call up Rangers International’s left back, Kenneth Igboke, to replace injured Victor Osimhen, who has been ruled out for four weeks, Broos has also been forced to call Kaizer Chiefs centre-back, Given Msimango, to replace injured Grant Kekana.

The match in Uyo promises to be full of fireworks, as the boys from the Rainbow nation are still seeking an opportunity to avenge the nail biting defeat in the semis of last Nations Cup.
Aside from that, every encounter between Nigeria and South Africa, Ghana or Cameroon, always goes to the wire and the battle of Uyo will not be different.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the Super Eagles will wear for the first time, their newly designed home kits by Nike against South Africa on Friday night. The new jersey is an all-white design with trimmings of green.
The away match against Benin Republic will also see the Eagles wear for the first time the away jersey made of green stripes with a touch of black.
