Goalkeeper

Francis Uzoho: Uzoho made an instinctive save in the first half to deny the Falcons but was culpable for the first of the two goals he conceded.

The goalkeeper was however unable to keep away the second as the ball deflected off Calvin Bassey from the late free kick by the Asian champions. 5/10.

   Defenders

Tyronne Ebuehi: The right back was defensively solid. He also offered some attacking impetus down the wings. 6/10.

Semi Ajayi: The West Brom centre-back showed great understanding playing with Calvin Bassey. He won his aerial duels but his tackles were clumsy. Lucky not to have been penalized for a handball inside the penalty box. 6/10.

Calvin Bassey: Bassey took no prisoners in central defence and was physically imposing, dealing with the threats of the Saudi Arabian attackers. 7/10.

Bruno Onyemaechi: The left back position seems to be the most competitive in the Super Eagles back line.

The Boavista defender would be a huge threat to the trio of Zaidu Sanusi, Jamilu Collins and Ebube Duru.

Defensively astute, the mauradibg left back also delivered good crosses into the opposition box albeit his attacking teammates did not convert them. 7/10.

   Midfielders

Wilfred Ndidi: The Leicester City midfielder continues to captain the team in the absence of William Troost Ekong. He has rediscovered his form and that hugely helped the team with another win on Friday.

Ndidi combined with Moses Simon for the goal which teammate Victor Boniface thought he had scored before a VAR check deemed it was an own goal. 7/10.

Alex Iwobi: The Fulham forward was creative and instrumental in the Eagles controlling the midfield. He had an early shot blocked which was heading to the goal. He was also keen to be at the base to pick up the ball and launch new passage of plays. 7/0.

Samuel Chukwueze: The AC Milan new man was at his trickery best with his nimble left foot but could not turn his many opportunities to goals, or goals attempts. 5/10.

Ademola Lookman: Full of energy but the final finish were lacking. Missed a couple of scoring chances in the game. 5.5/10.

  Forwards

Victor Boniface: The Bayer Leverkusen hitman was initially credited with the goal he supposedly scored but deemed an own goal after a VAR check.

He was a nuisance for the Saudi Arabian defenders before was subbed off. 7/10.

Victor Osimhen: Noticeably darted to the right flank to pick up and deliver crosses. Kissed a few chances before he went off injured. 6/10.

The substitutes

Terem Moffi: The striker who has lit up the French Ligue 1 a few times this season was a second half substitute in place of Osimhen but could not replicate the same spark produced by the Napoli man. 5/10.

Kelechi Iheanacho: Scored a delightful goal from the edge of the box and almost made it two before the Arabians equalized. 7/10.

Moses Simon: The Nantes forward showed some of the flashes that made him unarguably the best Super Eagles star at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Created the chance that led to the first goal. 6.5/10.

Bright Osayi-Samuel: Was a replacement for Tyrone Ebuehi. His progressive carries were impressive and he was decent on his defensive duties. 6/10.

Joe Aribo: Average performance that lacked the creative approach seen in Alex Iwobi whom he replaced. Almost gave up a goal towards the end of the game. 4/10.

Umar Sadiq: Was unable to prove that he can displace other players in the attacking department. 4/10.
