Gov Soludo Sees Symbolic Coincidence In Father’s Death

The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated “the symbolic coincidence” of his father’s death, saying that the late Pa Simeon Nwankwo (Akukananwa 1) died at about 7:45am on Monday, November 6, 2023, which coincided with the anniversary of his election.

While paying a glowing tribute to his late father who he maintained lived a befitting life, Governor Soludo disclosed that the departed patriarch will be accorded a decent burial devoid of obscenities.

He stated this after receiving a condolence letter from members of the State Executive Council (ANSEC), delivered by the Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim and the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu.

The Governor commended members of ANSEC for their thoughtfulness and solidarity during the tough time. “The burial will be in strict compliance with the Anambra burial laws. There will be no fanning of ego!” he said and promised to issue a formal statement as regards the burial arrangements.

Meanwhile, members of the Anambra State Executive Council offered their condolences on the death of Pa Simeon Soludo who passed on at the age of ninety-two.

The Executive Council offered their sympathy and support by observing a minute silence, after which their condolence message was delivered by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim and Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu.

Members of the Executive Council expressed their sadness over the Governor’s loss even as they reassured Soludo of their support.
