His compatriots did not hesitate in congratulating him for the feat and even expressing faith that he will in future take Ghana football to the next level

KOJO @kojocona said “That’s an incredible achievement, and looking forward to seeing where this journey takes you next! ⚽️👏”

Efo Filey 🔑@efo_phil on his part is optimistic that the achievement will be beneficial to Ghana someday, saying “Congrats man. I know one day you’ll put Ghana up there”

An excellent advice however came from Appiah 🇬🇭@kevinntowgh who said “Congratulation the Bison, please try and take this advice from me; modern football is dynamic and evolving, don’t stop taking refresher courses and workshops to gain more experience in dexterity in various modern tactics. I know you are born to succeed… kudos 💪🏾”

Essien who played for eight different clubs including Lyon, Real Madrid and AC Milan in the course of his playing career made 59 appearances for the Black Stars of Ghana with nine goals to his credit.

Essien was engaged by Danish Superliga club Nordsjælland in 2020/2021 as part of the club’s coaching team.

With both practical and theoretical knowledge by virtue of his new certificate it is safe to say the 41 year old former midfielder is ready for new challenge.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s U-20 side the Flying Eagles were able to retain their bragging right after beating their Ghanaian counterparts the Black Satellites in the WAFU B U20 final on Wednesday.

Flying Eagles successfully defended their WAFU B U20 title with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Satellites at the Stade de Kegue in Lome, Togo.

Two impressive goals from Kparobo Arierhi was all that was needed to carry the day by the Nigerian lads.

Ghana however managed to grab a consolation goal as the encounter ended 2-1 to the delight of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) whose President, Ibrahim Gusau, commended the boys for a job well done.

“The NFF is delighted with their performance. We believe they have what it takes to go all the way and successfully defend their title,” Gusau said.
