A potential double fight with Anthony Joshua will not be cause nightmares for British heavyweight champion Tyson Fury but the 37-year-old is not ready to fight a new kid on the block.
The ‘Gypsy king’ has revealed that he has 10 fights to go before he hangs up his gloves and has reeled out the names of his potential opponents which includes Anglo-Nigerian, Joshua.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelFury is billed to fight Oleksandr Usyk on May 18 in a WBO, IBF unification bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, three months after it was originally scheduled to hold.
The fight had to be postponed as Fury sustained an injury in a sparring fight prior to the initial February 17 date.
Fury in an interview with British broadcasting giants ,TNT, spoke about his last fights in the squared ropes but insists that he will not fight a certain unheralded man.
Slovakian 18-year-old boxer, Moses Itauma, is the new kid on the block that Fury wants to avoid.
“We’ve talked about 10 more fights and that’s the aim. I’m not even 36 yet so I’ll go to 40, all these fighters go to 40. If they can line them up quickly I’ll do them. I can get the best out of me when I have two, three, four fights on the spin.
“If they can do it, fantastic.
Fury speaks of the number of times he is set to fight Joshua and other heavyweight boxers.
“I’ll do Usyk, Usyk, AJ, AJ – if he doesn’t get beat in the meantime – so that’s four. Then I’ll do Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce, then Joseph Parker, that’s seven. Then I’ll go to America and chuck in an American, maybe Deontay Wilder for a fourth time. Maybe a European, an Agit Kabayel. Then for the 10th, I’ll probably do a trilogy with Usyk.”
When asked by TNT Sports to list potential opponents for his final 10 fights and the name of the youngster was mentioned, Fury said: “No, definitely not! Do you think I’m stupid? No, no no…”
