Controversial Crossdresser Idris Okunneye popularly known as Bobrisky has flagged off anti naira abuse campaign following his release from Prison.

In what looks like confirmation of popular saying that experience is the best teacher, Bobrisky in a new video warned Nigerians against spraying money unless they wish to occupy an apartment at the Kirikiri maximum prison.

A little offence he noted can land someone in prison. He however added that he is only focusing on friends who were there for him during his moment of incarceration.

Speaking in an interview with GoldMyneTV after his release, Bobrisky said, “Follow the rules, abide with the law. Don’t spray money, unless you’ll be a landlord inside kirikiri.”

He added, “It’s not just about killing or any criminal activity, something light like this can take you there.

“I’m only focusing on my friends who were there for me, and I’m grateful. I’m not thinking about any other person.”

Bobrisky was released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre on Monday, 5th August, after spending six months in incarceration for abusing the naira by spraying it at parties.

Recall that Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court Lagos found the crossdresser guilty of naira abuse on on April 12, 2024 and handed him a six-month prison sentence.

While in prison it was rumoured that the controversial crossdresser was enjoying a life of luxury and was being treated as a VIP, a submission which Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) denied via official statement.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Command, Rotimi Oladokun, clarified that Bobrisky is not receiving any special treatment and shares a cell with other convicted inmates, contrary to what was speculated in various social media reports.

Oladokun emphasised that the correctional facility does not have en-suite or ‘one-bedroom flat’ style cells.

He further explained that the cell block infrastructure is designed to accommodate multiple inmates and does not support the provision of exclusive amenities for any individual.
