The Entertainment industry is always a beehive of activities year in year out. The outgoing year 2024 is not an exception as the movers and shakers of the industry ensured that there was no dull moment.

Loud In Lagos Davido’s Wedding Dubbed Chivido2024:

Afro beat super star David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido is not a small fish in the entertainment industry.  The “Skelewu” exponent is like a golden fish that has no hiding place, and so when he announced date for his wedding with Super Chef Chioma, it became an instant hit as their fans quickly noted the date on the calendar and the countdown began.

When the appointed date came, June 25, 2024 at the Eko Hotel, the occasion did not disappoint as creme dela creme of the society made their way to the venue. The guests cut across all strata of the society from politicians to entertainment gurus, from traditional rulers to sports personalities.

As reported by Primebusiness.africa, It was easier to count the number of shakers and movers in the society who were not there than to attempt to count those who were there.

Bobrisky’s Jail Term And Bribery Allegation:

Controversial transgender cum cross dresser Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, popularly called Bobrisky, had a running battle with the law. She, sorry, he was accused of abusing the naira and charged to court and sentenced to prison for the act.

Although, he diligently served his six-month sentence. Afterwards it was alleged that he indeed did not stay in the prison but bribed his way for a cozy environment outside the prison.

This of course raised a lot of dust with Very Dark Man (VDM) ready to go to any learnt to prove the said allegation beyond reasonable doubt.

At a hearing at the House of Reps Committee, VDM appeared all ready but Bobrisky was nowhere to be found and he refused to go further. After all said and down, Bobrisky left the country and was happy to do so.

He said, “Yes I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily… I need to attend to my sanity and my health.”

Chidimma Adetshina’s Emergence As Miss Universe Runners Up

The story of the rejected stone that became the head of the corner easily resonates in the case of Nigeria-South African Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina.

The 23-year-old was bullied out of Miss Universe South Africa by xenophobic attacks and controversy over her mother’s nationality.

It turned out to be a devastating experience for her but succour came after she was welcomed by her father land to compete rather under Miss Universe Nigeria. She emerged winner and went ahead to emerge first runner up at the 73rd edition of the Miss Universe Pageant held at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.

Her emergence put a smile on the faces of well-meaning Nigerians and South Africans alike the initial show of disdain in some quarters notwithstanding.

Kingsley “KellyRae” Sule The Big Brother Season 9 Winner

Kingsley “KellyRae” Sule turned out to be the last man standing in the Big Brother Season 9. After 71 days in the house with lots of intrigues that saw die-hard of the fans devoting time and money to follow as events unfolded, KellyRae emerged winner to cart away the mouthwatering largesse at stake.

Kellyrae garnered 35.95% of the total vote cast by viewers, closely followed by Wanni who scored  32.48%. Onyeka claimed the third place with a distance score of 11.46%.  Sooj correctly predicted to be one of the outsiders in the contest took first from the back with unimpressive score of 1.18%.

Twenty four contestants flag off the race, at the end Kellyrae it was that went away with the SUV car worth plus N60 million Prize money.

While it lasted, fans had a field day savouring all the intrigues and voting for their favourite candidates till the last minute.

Gentleman Mike Ejeagha”s Resurgence

Veteran folklorist, Gentleman Mike Ejeagha became fan favourites after skit maker, Brain Jotter, re-awakened his over four decade old song Okwe ehi ga Chi, Gwo Gwo Gwo. The re-touch returned the nonagenarian to the front burner as the song became a must play at social gatherings and interestingly saw the old and the new keying into it, Some, for the story behind it, others for the demonstration that goes with it.

The Gentleman himself began to welcome August visitors to his Enugu abode with some bringing good tidings.

For the Uwa Mgbede Kamma exponent, nothing could have been more befitting than to be remembered while still alive and kicking.
