Fire Ravages Peter Obi’s Next Cash&Carry Supermarket Abuja, Witnesses Assist

It was sad Boxing Day on Sunday afternoon for the Management of Next Cash and Carry, a popular supermarket located along Ahmadu Bello Way, Kado-Kushi area of Jahi-Kado Expressway, Abuja.

The Supermarket belongs to former Anambra state governor and former vice presidential candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Peter Obi.

However several people elected to assist in salvaging the situation despite the risks as can be seen in the video posted above.

Spokesperson of the Federal Fire Service, Ugo Huan advised residents to avoid the areas as firefighters are battling to put out the fire and prevent its spread.

“The Service has turned out firefighters to the scene, who are currently fighting the fire,” Huan said.

“Members of the public are to take note and avoid that route.”

Huan said firefighters from over three different zones, including the FCT fire service, were at the scene fighting the fire.

The spokesperson said the cause of the fire was not known yet as further investigation would be done to ascertain the likely cause of the fire.
