This development was also confirmed by the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa via her X handle.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles forward and Galatasaray ace, Victor Osimhen, has  called out Confederation of African Football for keeping mum in the midst of inhuman treatment meted at the Super Eagles by Libyan authorities.

Osimhen who missed the first leg at Uyo, following injury that sidelined him, voiced his support for his players on Instagram calling for swift action to address the situation.

“Actions like this go against the spirit of sportsmanship. My support is with my team, and I know they’ll stay strong despite these obstacles. I call on CAF and other football bodies to intervene, as my teammates and officials are still stranded at the airport in Libya,” Osimhen posted on Instagram Stories while the mental torture was ongoing in Libya.

But with the team safely airborne on the way to Nigeria official statement is being expected from CAF on the final decision on the ill-fated match.
