Leicester City forward Ademola Lookman is elated to have finally been granted his wishes of representing Nigeria after FIFA approved of his change of allegiance.

Having represented the Young Three Lions at the youth levels culminating in his being part of the 2017 winning England’s U-20 World Cup side, Lookman who visited the country last summer has now become full fledged Nigerian and could play against Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs next month.
Lookman wrote on his Twitter handle, “Delighted to announce that FIFA has approved my Nationality switch. Thank you for the warm welcome and I can’t wait to put on the Super Eagles shirt and represent the country @NGSuperEagles 🇳🇬🦅.”
The former Everton player, who is on loan at Leicester City from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig applied to switch his allegiance to Nigeria in October 2021 but was unable to play for the Super Eagles at the 2021 AFCON because he was yet to get clearance from FIFA.
