Rev your engines and buckle up because the highly anticipated “Fast X,” the latest instalment in the beloved “Fast and Furious” franchise, is poised to make a thunderous entrance at the domestic box office this weekend, with a projected debut of $67.25 million.
The adrenaline-pumping street racing movie got off to a strong start on Friday, raking in an impressive $28 million from 4,046 theatres. Anticipation is building as it is expected to accelerate its earnings with another $22.43 million on Saturday and $16.82 million on Sunday.

This phenomenal performance is set to dethrone the current box office leader, Disney and Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” which is projected to bring in $32.89 million in its third weekend, pushing its North American total past $267 million.
Thursday’s previews proved to be a high-octane affair as “Fast X” notched an impressive $7.5 million, pointing towards a staggering $60 million opening weekend.
This would position the tenth chapter in the “Fast” saga as the seventh highest box office debut, nestled between 2021’s “F9: The Fast Saga” ($70 million) and 2019’s “Hobbs and Shaw” ($60 million). Internationally, “Fast X” is on track to race past $250 million in overseas earnings during its opening weekend.
Universal spared no expense, investing $340 million in production and an additional $100 million in promotion, making it crucial for the Fast Family across the globe to flock to theatres and ensure a profitable run.
In this action-packed instalment, audiences will be introduced to a formidable new villain, Dante Reyes, portrayed by the charismatic Jason Momoa from “Aquaman.” Seeking vengeance against Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and the rest of the Fast gang for his father’s demise during a bank vault heist, Reyes will test the limits of their loyalty and resilience.
Directed by the talented Louis Leterrier, the film features a star-studded cast, including franchise favourites Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, Helen Mirren, Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Charlize Theron. Joining the fray are newcomers Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, Leo Abelo Perry, and Rita Moreno.
