EPL: Chelsea Beats Sheffield United, Leapfrog Fulham Into Top Half

Second-half goals by Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson secured all three points for Chelsea as they climb into the top half of the Premier League table and keep their first clean sheet since October 2, reports Prime Business Africa.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino named Christopher Nkunku to the Blues’ bench for the first time this season after the forward overcame his injury woes albeit the former RB Leipzig star was an unused substitute.

Palmer who joined from Manchester City opened the scoring after 54 minutes after bursting onto Raheem Sterling’s cross in the box, with his goal surviving a VAR check.

Seven minutes later, the much-maligned Jackson doubled the Blues’ lead with a tap-in after some scrappy play in the box, bagging his first goal in over a month with the goal also checked by the VAR officials.

The result saw Mauricio Pochettino’s men leapfrog Fulham, who lost 3-0 to Bournemouth, into the top half.

Sheffield United remains rooted to the bottom of the table.
