Speaking after the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the Abuja National Eid Prayer Ground on Sunday, President Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to continue practicing the moral values they had learned during the Ramadan period rather than reverting to the old and inappropriate ways.

“We should continue the good deeds as taught during the Holy month of Ramadan: care for the vulnerable, the orphans and the less privileged. Everything that we have observed, we should not revert to the path that is not acceptable to the teachings of this month,” the President stated.

Sultan Seeks Support of Elected Leaders to Deliver Good Governance

Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and head of the country’s Muslim community, urged Nigerians to keep praying and supporting elected officials at all levels of government so they can achieve the necessary progress and development of their nation.

The Sultan asked Nigerians to pray for peace and against the country’s growing insecurity in his Sallah message, which was delivered soon after the prayers marking this year’s Eid-el-Fitr festival.

He commended the efforts of the security forces but voiced concern about the security issues in some areas of the nation.

He encouraged people to engage in constructive criticism of leaders who are trying to solve the nation’s problems instead of merely addressing them with pointless attacks.

He expressed gratitude to the state government and other wealthy people for providing locals with various forms of assistance that made it easy for them to observe the Ramadan fast.

APC Congratulates Muslims Celebrating Eid-el-Fitr

The All Progressives Congress (APC) felicitated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.

In a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party commended Muslim faithful for their utmost devotion to Almighty Allah as expressed in fervent prayers, sacrifice, charity and commitment to peace and unity of the country throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

The party called on Muslim faithful to continue to exemplify the virtues and essence of Ramadan by sustaining their prayers, sacrifice, generosity, and tolerance as advocated by the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

“We also urge them to use the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to further pray for our leaders and rededicate themselves to the collective task of achieving sustainable peace, progress and development of our dear country,” APC added.

APC national chairman Dr Abdullahi Ganduje congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the world on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, the APC National Chairman said he rejoices with all Muslims for the spiritual renewal and discipline attained during the sacred month of fasting, prayer, and devotion to Almighty Allah

He urged the faithful to uphold the virtues of piety, selflessness, and compassion that Ramadan represents, while also extending love and kindness to one another, especially the less privileged in society.

Dr Ganduje, who emphasised that the lessons of Ramadan—patience, sacrifice, and perseverance—are essential in fostering harmony and strengthening the nation’s democratic institutions, called on the citizens to remain steadfast in promoting unity, peace, and national progress.

The former governor of Kano State, who claimed that Nigerians will not regret voting for President Tinubu after his first term, called on the citizens to pray for the President to succeed in his efforts to lift the nation out of economic challenges and end the lingering insecurity.

While acknowledging Nigerians’ steadfast support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Dr. Ganduje reassured that the APC-led government is dedicated to enhancing the welfare and well-being of all Nigerians.

PDP Calls On Nigerians To Stand for Justice, Rule of Law

While congratulating the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Holy Ramadan fasting, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) urged Nigerians to allow the divine lessons and values imbibed during the period to guide their daily activities.

The opposition party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, urged Nigerians, especially leaders at all levels, to rededicate themselves to selfless service guided by love, truth, fairness, honesty, and impartiality.

The PDP urged leaders to eschew all forms of corruption, arrogance, manipulation and insensitivity to the plight of the people.

The party stressed that the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr offers an opportunity for rededication to the pursuit of justice, adherence to the Rule of Law and accountability in the polity.

The PDP said it is deeply concerned that while citizens of other countries are celebrating the Eid-el-Fitr in plenty, Nigerians are bedeviled by challenges of hardship caused by economic policies adopted by the APC-led administration, “which has worsened in the last two years.”

The PDP called on Nigerians to use the occasion to reach out to one another, especially the less privileged, so that the joy of Eid-el-Fitr can spread to all.
