In an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Eedris Abdulkareem recounted the genesis, glory, and dissolution of The Remedies. However, Eddy Remedy, one-third of the iconic group, has vehemently contested the narrative put forth by Abdulkareem, branding it as a web of falsehoods and half-truths.

Contrary to Abdulkareem’s assertions of being the creative force behind The Remedies and their breakout hit ‘Shakomo,’ Remedy disclosed that it was he who owned the song, crafting it during his days as a student at Yaba Tech. ‘Shakomo’ soared to prominence in universities across Lagos and the South West, with Remedy’s talent at the helm.

Remedy clarified that it was he who introduced Abdulkareem to Raypower studio, debunking Abdulkareem’s claim of being the catalyst behind the group’s studio debut.

Remedy unveiled that the discovery of The Remedies was not orchestrated by Kenny Ogungbe of Raypower and Kennis Music, as commonly believed. Instead, it was Mr. Solomon who first recognized the group’s potential, with Raypower and Ogungbe joining the fray a year later.

Remedy didn’t stop there; he delved into his strained relationship with Kennis Music, exacerbated by a marital dispute with Kenny Saint Brown (KSB), sister to Kennis Music label boss Kenny Ogungbe.

Remedy pointed fingers at Abdulkareem’s avarice as the primary obstacle hindering The Remedies’ resurgence. Despite encountering a potential benefactor willing to finance their comeback, Abdulkareem’s fixation on securing his share of the funds thwarted the group’s aspirations.

Addressing Abdulkareem’s recent altercation with Burna Boy over claims of paving the way for the Grammy-winning artist, Remedy rebuked Abdulkareem, asserting that his actions were self-serving. He lauded Burna Boy for elevating Afrobeats to global acclaim and stressed the importance of acknowledging his contributions.

In a bid to validate his assertions, Remedy urged Tony Tetuila, the third member of The Remedies, to corroborate his accounts, underscoring the urgency of exposing Abdulkareem’s fabrications and reaffirming the truth.
