Nigeria’s men’s basketball national team, D’Tigers on Saturday evening won their second game in the Window 4 of African qualifiers to the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup with a 89-70 win over Guinea reports Prime Business Africa.

D’Tigers won the first quarter 24-15 but both sides ended the second quarter 20-20.

It was Nigeria who claimed the third quarter by 32-15 but the Guineans was the slightly better team in the fourth and last quarter with a 20-13 win.

The Nigerian men on Friday lost 78-66 to Cote d’Ivoire in their first game of the round.

D’Tigers will face an herculean task when they play one of the best sides on the African continent, Angola on Sunday who defeated Cape Verde 65-58 on Saturday.

The last window for the qualifiers to the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup will open in February 2023 with the top two teams automatically picking up tickets to the World Cup.

Nigeria’s women’s team will not take part in this year’s World Cup following the decision of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to withdraw D’Tigress from the World Cup which begins in September.
