Dr Sid Confirms Big Offer, Relocation To Texas, United States

If you have been wondering over the whereabouts of  Nigerian singer and the “I I I I I I I feel like am flying over the moon” fame Dr Sid, then wonder no more as the University of Ibadan trained dental surgeon, turned musician has revealed his location.

Dr Sid, who is son of the late veteran actor, Justice Esiri, revealed in a recent episode of the ‘No Man’s Friend’ podcast that he has since relocated to God’s Own Country, adding that a lucrative job offer with option to live anywhere in the United States of America, prompted the move.

“I now live in the U.S. I left Nigeria last year after I got a job with a company in New York that offered me an opportunity to move to the States and live anywhere in the U.S.

“I’ve a family in Houston, my best friend lives here, so Houston, Texas was an easy choice. And that is it. I’ve been working here for the last one year and a half,” he said.

Dr. Sid, whose full name is Sidney Onoriode Esiri, gained prominence in 2002 when he was made a member of Da Trybe, and given a spot on the Hip-hop hit, ‘Oya’ alongside Sasha, 2-Shotz, Timi, DEL, and the Trybesmen (Eldee, Kb and Freestyle).

A year later, he released his debut solo single ‘Don’t Stop.’ Thereafter, he took a break from music to complete his university degree and became a qualified dentist.

He then relocated to the UK to work with the likes of JJC & the 419 squad, Felix Duke, KAS, R70, D’prince, D’Banj.

In 2005, Dr Sid started recording a studio album titled ‘Prognosis’ which featured the single ‘Raise Da roof’, but later abandoned the album.

However his hit album, “Over the Moon”, released in 2010-2011 emerged No 1 in the Nigerian top 10. For Dr. Sid, is not just about music as he also delved into acting just like his father featuring in some films like Moses Inwang’s ‘The Last 3 Digits’.

He starred as corp member and a friend to Nonso Diobi in the film, which incidentally  won the People’s Film Festival’s Best International Film award in Paris, France. Dr Sid performed his hit single Surulere Live on the MTV Africa Music award stage on April 20, 2014 in Durban.

Dr. Sid it will be recalled dumped the smoking habit and celebrated two years of quitting smoking in 2020, telling his fans then “I forgot to share this with you guys last month. Celebrating 2yrs smoke free,” he wrote.
