The legal dispute between Brownhill Investment Company and afrobeat artist Davido, has been settled out of court. The conflict stemmed from an alleged breach of contract concerning Davido’s performance at the 19th edition of the ‘Warri Again Concert.’
The Effurun High Court in Delta State oversaw the out-of-court settlement, with Justice Michael Obi commending both parties for their commitment to resolving the matter amicably.

The company sought ₦2 billion in general damages from the defendants, along with ₦150 million for legal and professional fees, and an additional ₦30 million for filing costs. However, in a surprising turn of events, the parties opted for an out-of-court settlement, avoiding the protracted litigation process.
Following the court’s decision, counsel to the defendants, Oladayo Ogungbe, confirmed that Davido would indeed grace the stage once more at the ‘Warri Again’ concert, scheduled for October 4. Ogungbe expressed satisfaction with the settlement, emphasizing that it was a preferable alternative to prolonged legal battles.
“The decision to settle out of court is a win-win situation for both parties,” remarked Ogungbe, highlighting the benefits of diplomacy over litigation.
The ‘Warri Again’ concert holds special significance as an annual celebration of entertainers from the Niger Delta region, organized by Pinnick’s company.
