Dangote Cement Investors, Others Lose N341.09 billion In Stock Market

Nigeria’s stock market capitalisation closed with N28.94 trillion on Tuesday, 28 March 2023, losing N341.09 billion from the N29.28 trillion the bourse settled at on Monday, 27 March 2023.

The All-Share Index depreciated further to 53,124.63 ASI from the previous day’s 53,750.77 ASI. It lost 626.14 basis points.

On Tuesday, over 202.85 million shares were traded by investors in 3,071 deals worth N2.05 billion.

Today’s trading contrasted with the 100.88 million shares exchanged in 3,279 deals on Monday, valued at N4.34 billion.

Top five gainers

  • PZ share appreciated by N1 to rise from N10.40kobo to N11.40kobo per share           
  • International Energy Insurance grew by N0.26kobo, up from N1.19kobo to N1.30kobo per share 
  • Multiverse ended trading with N3.24kobo from N2.98kobo per share, rising by N0.26kobo.    
  • FTN Cocoa gained 7.69 per cent to end trading at N0.28kobo, having opened with N0.26kobo per share.       
  • Regal Insurance’s stock was up by 6.90 per cent, closing at N0.31kobo from N0.29kobo per share      

Top five losers 

  • Chams depreciated by 8 per cent, dwindling from N0.25kobo to N0.23kobo per share.          
  • UAC Nigeria also fell by N0.55kobo to end trading at N9, after opening with N9.55kobo per share.   
  • Dangote Cement followed the same path losing N12 after trading hours, to sell at N276 from N288 per share.          
  • Fidson reported a decline of N0.29kobo from the previous day’s share price of N9.84kobo to end trading at N9.55kobo per share.          
  • Prestige’s share depreciated to N0.40kobo from N0.41kobo, after losing 2.44 per cent during trading hours.           

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange 

  • Transcorp reported 61.49 million shares valued at N85.30 million were traded on its floor            
  • Fidelity Bank recorded 26.95 million shares valued at N139.04 million          
  • Custodian saw investors trade 19.96 million of its shares valued at N121.80 million          
  • Sterling Bank recorded 18.65 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N29.37 million          
  • GTCO reported 11.73 million shares, valued at N291.13 million, exchanged investors’ hands
