Cyprus Club In Pain As Nigerian Player Dies In Auto Crash

Cyprus Club Enosis Neon Paralimniou,is in mourning following the death of their Nigerian player, Paul Julius, in an auto crash Wednesday, at the age of 20.

Until his death, Paul Julius played as a forward for the club. According to the club, Paul Julius died after his car collided with another vehicle on the Paralimni-Protaras road in Cyprus.

Enosis Neon Paralimniou, shared the heartbreaking news of his passing on their official website, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.

The statement released by the club paid tribute to Paul’s determination and resilience, acknowledging the challenges he overcame to pursue his dreams.

The club’s statement reads: “It is with deep sadness and pain that we express our sincere condolences on the unexpected loss of our footballer, Paul Julius.

“The tragic news of his death has shocked us all. Despite the hardships and sufferings he faced to join our family, he remained steadfast and determined to fulfill his goals.

“His memory will live on in our minds and his absence will be felt.

“We are with his family and his loved ones during this difficult time.“May he rest in peace.”

Paul Julius had only recently joined Cypriot club Enosis Neon Paralimniou after transferring from the Egyptian side El Gaish.

Enosis Neon Paralimniou one of the oldest clubs in Cyprus plays in the country’s second division league after bagging relegation from the first division in the 2022/2023 season after finishing 13th on the league table.

Aside from late Paul Julius, the club also has another Nigerian player Adebayo Adeleye who is the goalkeeper of the club.
