Dr Marcel Mbamalu, CEO of Newstide Publications Limited, publishers of Prime Business Africa, will today, 16 June, feature on Classic FM 97.3 programme, The Discourse, where he will be speaking on the topic, “The Nigerian Democracy, 25 Years After.”
He will join the radio programme host, Dr Ken Onyeali Ikpe, by 2 pm in dissecting this important topic at the moment the country is celebrating her 25 years of uninterrupted democracy after the military interregnum that ended on 29 May 1999.

A Communications/Media Consultant, Dr Mbamalu also has extensive research works on Renewable Energy and Health Communication published in several international journals, including SAGE.
This seasoned journalist horned his journalism skills at The Guardian Newspaper, rising to the position of News Editor at the flagship of the Nigerian press. He has garnered multidisciplinary experience in marketing communication, public relations and media research, helping clients to deliver bespoke campaigns within Nigeria and across Africa.
He has built an expansive network in the media and has served as a media trainer for World Health Organisation (WHO) at various times in Northeast Nigeria; attended numerous media trainings, including the Bloomberg Financial Journalism Training and Reuters/AfDB training on Effective Coverage of Infrastructural Development of Africa.
A versatile media expert, he won the Jefferson Fellowship in 2023 as the sole Africa representative on the program. Dr Mbamalu was part of a global media team that covered the 2020 United State’s Presidential election. As Africa’s sole representative in the 2023 Jefferson Fellowships, Dr Mbamalu was selected to tour the United States and Asia (Japan and Hong Kong) as part of a 12-man global team of journalists on a travel grant to report on inclusion, income gaps and migration issues between the US and Asia.
Dr Onyeali Ikpe hosts The Discourse programme weekly. It is a thought-provoking and robust knowledge exchange programme on critical socioeconomic and political matters affecting the people.
Onyeali Ikpe is an expert in leadership, brand management, marketing communications and public relations. He lectures part time at the School of Media and Communication (SMC) Pan Atlantic University.
He holds a Ph.D in Development Economics from the Academy of Sciences, School of African Studies Moscow Russia, an alumni of Advanced Management Programme (AMP), Lagos Business School, and also trained at the IESE Business School, Barcelona – Spain. He is a fellow of Nigeria Institute of Marketing and the President of Media Independent Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MIPAN).
Victor Ezeja is a passionate journalist with six years of experience writing on economy, politics and energy. He holds a Masters degree in Mass Communication.
