The fixtures for the 2023-24 Premier League season was released on Thursday with interesting fixtures heralding the start of a new campaign with the top clash between Chelsea and Liverpool headlining the Matchday 1 actions.
According to the release made by the Premier League, the first game of the season on Friday, 11 August 2023, will see champions Manchester City face promoted Burnley who won the Championship title in May.

Kompany won several league titles as captain of City before his career in coaching started after his retirement.
Last term, Manchester City were able to capitalise on Arsenal’s poor end to the season and cruise to a ninth league title.
They will be hoping to make it 10 next year, although a new and improved Gunners side will no doubt be out for revenge.
The likes of Newcastle and Manchester United will want to spoil the party, too.
The emergence of sides such as Brighton and Aston Villa made the race for Europe more hotly contested than ever before. The 2023-24 campaign looks set to be even tighter, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham looking to bounce back from their disappointing seasons.
At the other end of the table, all three promoted clubs survived the drop, as England’s top flight welcomes Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton Town in 2023-24. How will they get on in their new surroundings?
The Premier League season will begin on August 11 and finish on 19th May 2024.
Instructively, there will be a two-week winter break in January while the back-to-back Christmas fixtures will not hold.
After the Boxing day games, the next games will hold on December 30.
