Edo State APC Chairman Jareth Tenebe has come hard on those making fun of State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo following his now trending controversial budget presentation on the floor of state House of Assemble on Tuesday.

The Governor was caught in a mix of confusion during his presentation of the 2025 budget to the State House of Assembly as he attempted to reel out the figures contained in his address to the house on the budget.

The Governor after a number of unsuccessful attempts confessed that the figures were confusing him leading to murmuring and side talks in the house forcing the Speaker to call the house to order demanding absolute silence.

The budget dubbed “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo” is coming less than one month after Senator Monday Okpebholo was sworn in as Edo State Governor succeeding former Governor Godwin Obaseki and edging out Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the Government House in the state.

Irked by the trending drama and the comments it has drawn on social media, Edo State APC Chairman Jareth Tenebe said making such mistake is an indication that “Okpebholo is innocent and original, that is why he doesn’t know figures”

According to the State APC boss,” the social media has been agog with our Governor Budget presentations about mistake on N605billion and the rest of it all, it is a normal thing, Zuma made such mistake and a lot of people make such mistakes, I don’t know figures. You see that is how to know original and innocent people, Obaseki will not make such mistake because he has stolen billions before,Asue Ighodalo will not make such mistakes because he has stolen billions before. Monday is not a thief so he is not familiar with figures, so anybody who wants to talk and continue talking, can continue to talk, it is nonsense. He is the Governor of the state and he is performing and will continue to perform and anybody who does not like his face should go to hell and burn to ashes” he submitted.

While some have ignored the submission of the APC boss, others have listened with rapt action calling both former Governor Obaseki and Ighodalo to act on the submission of APC boss over their level of embezzlement.

A post on X courtesy of Sir Ferdinand Rogers @ZarkyPage said “Dear @Aighodalo & @GovernorObaseki, we the people of Edo State give both of you 2 weeks to SUE Emperor Jarret Tenebe for defamation of Characters. He has alleged that both of you stole Billions of Naira while in govt and we will accept wholeheartedly that he was saying the TRUTH”

As fallout from Budget Broadcast Gaffe, a reporter with Nigeria Television of Authority (NTA) has reportedly been arrested for defying a security directive to halt the stream.

The said arrest has thrown up another debate as to whether live program can and should be interrupted because of a Gaffe.

The arrest of the NTA reporter is akin to that of cameraman with Ecuadorian television Jose Salmana who was sacked in a controversial circumstance. The said cameraman was taking live coverage with a reporter on Gasoline related issue, and as the Cameraman panned to capture the filling station a seminude lady walked pass without the slightest care in the world.

The action of the TV station is currently subject of debate as it trended few days back with some querying the rationale behind the sacking of the Cameraman.
