Chelsea Wins Club World Cup In Abu Dhabi, Ighalo Unused In 3rd Place Final

Kai Havertz’s 117th minute penalty(in extra time) won the Club World Cup for Chelsea in a very difficult game against Brazilian side Palmerias.

The game ended 2-1 in the final in Abu Dhabi, where Romelu Lukaku put the European champions in front by heading home Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cross 10 minutes into the second half.

After a handball by Thiago Silva, Raphael Veiga equalised with a penalty and the game went to extra time.

Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo was an unused substitute as Asian Champions League champions Al Hilal suffered a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of African representatives Al Ahly in their Club World Cup third-place playoff inside the magnificent Al Nahyan Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Saturday evening.
