An early morning Air Peace Lagos-bound flight was disrupted by a bird strike shortly before takeoff in Abuja.
In a statement by its Head of Corporate Communications, Ejike Ndiulo, released via social media handles, Air Peace said the incident prompted a ramp return as a safety measure.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelIt said all passengers disembarked safely while a replacement aircraft for the affected flight was promptly deployed to enable them to continue their journey without disruption.
Air Peace appealed for understanding of its passengers affected by the development and those of other flights that may experience delays because of the incident.

“We wish to inform our esteemed passengers that our Abuja-Lagos 06:30 flight experienced a bird strike before take-off, prompting a ramp return as a safety measure. All passengers disembarked normally,” part of the statement read.
“We have deployed a replacement aircraft for the affected flight in order to minimise disruptions, thus ensuring that passengers continue their journeys promptly.
“We appeal for the understanding of our valued passengers impacted by this development, as well as those on other flights that may experience delays.
“At Air Peace, we are committed to providing comfortable, and reliable air travel for all our passengers.”
