The Big Brother franchise is marking its 20th anniversary in Africa and on Sunday 23 July 2023, fans of the show witnessed the return to the house of 20 former Naija housemates from the previous six editions.
However, some of our favourites were not ushered in by the hosts, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who himself was one of the housemates in the first edition in 2006.

Prime Business Africa presents 10 former housemates missing from Sunday’s launch show with huge fanbase.
1. Tacha Akide
She was a big sensation in the fourth edition of the show in 2019 – Pepper Dem Gang.
The controversial influencer was in the news recently as she called out the organizers for giving a ‘second chance’ to housemates who already made their names the first time.
The ‘Port Harcourt first daughter’ who will be 28 years old in five months time from Sunday (December 23) was evicted from the show after receiving three strikes for disciplinary issues.
Tacha may have an estimated net worth of about $200,000 but the N120m prize money for the All-Stars edition means a lot to the “house guests” as Big Brother referred to them on Sunday night.
2. Miracle Igbokwe
The winner of the 2018 Big Brother Naija ‘Double Wahala’ edition, Miracle Igbokwe, is currently in the United States but his fans hoped that he could be back one more time to grace their screens.
The pilot and model relocated to the United States in furtherance of his aviation career.
The feeling that Miracle could win the big prize came after he won the Pepsi singing Challenge. Davido was in the house to visit the housemates on the fateful day.
Miracle best runner up, Cee-cee Nwadiora to the big prize on the finale.
3/4. Teddy A & Bambam
The duo of Teddy A and Bambam made history as they became the first housemates with a love interest in the house to get married.
Born Tope Adenibuyan, Teddy A, who was considered by many as playboy found love in voiceover artist and actress, Bamike Olawunmi (Bambam).
Bambam who grew in the Apapa area of Lagos found chemistry with Teddy A in the Double Wahala house and was evicted 24 hours before his love interest.
One of the most iconic images of the show was Teddy A crying inconsolably and asking if the likes of Cee-cee and Alex had more fans than his girlfriend.
5. Ozoemena Chukwu
Sports analyst and sports consultant, Ozoemena Joseph Chukwu was one of the favourites housemates in the Lockdown edition of 2020.
Simply called ‘Ozo’, the handsome dude who aims someday to be the President of Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) could have been a fans’ delight in the All-Stars edition.
Ozo also had love interest in the house in the person of the very beautiful Nengi, although he was somewhat seen as too gentle to be a drama king which most people crave for.
6. Bisola
Don’t get it twisted; Bisola has so many fans rooting for such a return to their screens.
She was the runners up in the See Gobe season in 2017 when Warri boy, Efe Ejeba, and these days hosts a couple of shows on television like Shoot Your Shot as filmed by Multi Choice.
Bisola may have this ‘big aunty’ gait about her but she wowed a lot of watchers in 2017.
It will be interesting to see if she makes her way in the course of the show either a house guest or in some other capacity.
7. Tobi Bakre
Tobi was second runner up in the Double Wahala edition in 2018.
Tobi, who is now an accomplished actor and recently won the prize for the Actor of the Year in the AMVCA awards could have enhanced the acceptance and popularity of the show.
It would be a great idea to have the latest bad boy of Nollywood in the house where he will link up with former housemates, Cee-cee and Alex.
Did you remember the grand ‘set up’ against Cee-cee led by Tobi and Alex which reduced Cee-cee to tears towards the end of the show when she (Cee-cee) was doing her laundry?
You now see why Tobi would have been a class act in the All-Stars edition.
8. Mike Edwards
Mike Edwards was the first runner up of the Pepper Dem edition in 2019 which Mercy Eke won.
Meanwhile, Mercy affectionately known as ‘Lambo’ is part of the cast for the All-Stars show.
Mike Edwards is an accomplished British-born athlete who was part of Nigeria’s contingent to the 2020 Olympics and 2021 World Athletics Championship.
It is not known if the upcoming World Athletics Championship in Budapest this August played a part in the exclusion of the amiable Edwards who was a fan favourite whilst in the house.
Edwards was not romantically involved with any lady in the 2019 season which won him lots of accolades as he was happily married.
9. Elozonam Ogbolu
Content creator, actor, commercial model and music producer, Elozonam Ogbolu was part of season 4 of the show – Pepper Dem Gang.
Elozonam has carved a niche for himself and is a lady’s man.
Elozonam dis not join the show from the beginning when he launched himself on our screens. Could he be about to do same this year in the All-Stars edition? Time will tell.
For now, all we can do is to wish it happens so.
10. Omashola Oburoh
Remember the Season 4 housemate that thrilled us all with his ‘pepper body’ and ‘waffi’ (Warri) vibes, Omashola?
The South Africa-based businessman was a delight to watch in 2019 when he came 4th on the show.
His rendition of the pidgin English and sense of humour made us all (including this writer) wish the show never ended!
Omashola would have been a divisive bit interesting ‘house guest’ in this All-Stars special edition.
Let’s hope that Biggie calls him up and he obliges.
