Winner of the recently concluded BBNaija Season 9, Kingsley Oritsetimeyin, aka Kellyrae, has raised the alarm after he was inundated by numerous requests from far and near for financial assistance.
Kellyrae who emerged winner after edging out seven of the last eight standing in the 71-day reality show that ended on October 6, revealed his ordeal in a chat with media personality, Hero Daniels.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelAccording to the husband of fellow housemate, Kassia, no day passes anymore without his getting a call or message from family and friends for one form of assistance or the other even as he appealed to them to allow him to settle.
He said, “I was receiving calls from people close to us after I said I gave Kassia N55 million and they were asking for their own share of my prize money.
“I will like to say to everyone, I’m not a rich man yet please. The money is big but things are expensive. Even if it’s egg I want to buy, how many crates of eggs will I buy? Please allow a brother to settle.”
Recall that Kellyrae walked home with a cash prize of N60 million and a brand new car worth N40 million after winning the ninth edition of the Big Brother Naija reality show.
Call it one headache too many for the winner, and you will be right. Recall that Kellyrae had the first issue after his victory with his in-laws who had lampooned the couple’s management team for urging fans to vote more for Kellyrae instead of Kassia, leading to her eviction while kellyrae advanced to the final.
Kassia revealed that after the event saying she had no issue with that but that her family did not like the decision. Kelly and Kassia are not having problems blending at home as husband and wife but the financial demand from outside is additional migraine for Kellyrae, who may be staying awake at night thinking of how best to invest the money in an economy that appears to have defiled solutions.

With fuel selling at N1,100 to N1,500 per litre depending on locations cruising in his new SUV is equally not likely to be a daily occurrence.
One fan had predicted after the win that the winner will used the money to buy fuel apparently reacting to the Hike in Price of fuel which has catapulted the price of food and other commodities to the roof top.
Only recently former Senator of the Federal Republic Elisha Abbo disclosed that each Senator goes home with N29million monthly.
Asked whether he does not consider that too much of a package in a country where people are struggle to have a meal a day, the Senator said the N29million is only big on paper.
By implication if the BBNaija winner chooses to live like a Senator, he can only do so for two months before he be becomes broke, which is probably why he is begging those asking him for money to please let him settle down and figure out his next move, to avoid “but he won N60million and a car what did he do with all that?”
