The much awaited 9th season of Big Brother Naija is set to premiere this July, with the actual premiere Sunday undisclosed.
The show organisers, have been teasing the new season on their Instagram page, urging fans to mark their calendars for a Sunday in July. By implication, the new season will premiere on July 7th, 14th, 21st or 28th being the four Sundays of the new month of July.

Die-hard fans of the programme have however been told to pencil down all the Sundays of July. The show is set to captivate fans with its unique twist and new partnership requirement.
Prime Business Africa (PBA), understands that the upcoming season will be featuring a novel format that moves away from the traditional individual participation.
According to announcements on the show’s official page, potential housemates must audition with a partner, which could be a friend, family member, or romantic partner.

Auditions for season 9 began on 27th March 2024, with a twist requiring participants to apply in pairs.
The organisers stated, “This year, it’s a search for Dynamic Duos that love the show and can turn up the heat in Biggie’s house!”
Big Brother Naija, formerly known as Big Brother Nigeria, is a Nigerian reality competition television series, based on the Big Brother television franchise, in which, contestants live in an isolated house and compete for a large cash prize and other material prizes, at the end of the show by avoiding being evicted from the house by viewers who vote for their favourite housemates to remain in the show.
Season 8, it will be recalled, premiered on 23rd July 2023, with 20 housemates. It included ex housemates and fan favourites from previous seasons of Big Brother Naija.
Ilebaye Precious Odiniya was crowned the winner of the 8th season, pocketing N120 millon for her wits and efforts.
Odiniya, also known as Baye or Gen-Z Baddie, is a graduate of Criminology and Security Studies, a model and reality TV star.
