Olise became Die Roten’s top target to strengthen the attack this summer. The French forward enjoyed a productive campaign with Crystal Palace. Bayern contacted Palace early in June to win the race for the winger’s signature.

Jamal Musiala just back from National Assignment at the at the ongoing Euro 2024 where Germany crashed out in the quarterfinals after losing to Spain, has known Olise for a long time since they played together at the youth level during their stint at Chelsea. While talking to AZ, Musiala heaped praise on the immense quality of Olise. The German attacking midfielder is looking forward to playing with him at Bayern.

“We played together at Chelsea’s youth teams, it was a good time. we haven’t talked much over the years, but what I can say is that he has a lot of quality. You could see that at Crystal Palace, he scored a lot of goals.”

Olise endured injuries last season that kept him on the sidelines for long periods. Despite playing only 19 league games for Palace, Olise scored 10 goals and provided six assists. He was one of the best wide players in the Premier League last season.

The French forward is exceptional at beating his defender and creating chances in the final third. He also has a knack for scoring goals consistently, making him a complete winger. The Bavarian faithful will hope Olise’s injury problems are behind him, and he plays regularly for Bayern next season.

Olise will need time to settle into the squad since he will miss a big chunk of the pre-season due to the Olympics. The French forward will make appearances from the bench at the start of the season with the view of getting an extending run in the starting XI as the campaign progresses.

Bayern want to add another attacking player to the squad as they remain in talks with Paris Saint-Germain for Xavi Simons. The Dutch attacking midfielder will resolve his future after the Netherlands’ involvement in the Euros ends. Bryan Zaragoza will also serve as a new signing after a difficult six months of integration at the club. Bayern want to part ways with Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry to make space for Olise and Simons in the squad.

Olise Eligible To Represent France, Algeria, England Or Nigeria

Olise was born in England to a Nigerian father and French-Algerian mother, and is eligible to represent France, Algeria, England or Nigeria internationally. On 27th May 2019, he was called up to the France U18 for the 2019 Toulon Tournament. He made his debut on 2 June 2019, against Qatar U23. In March 2021, Olise was named as a standby for the Nigeria squad taking part in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho.

In March 2022, Olise was called up to the France under-21 team for the first time, and made his debut in the side’s 2–0 win over the Faroe Islands on 24 March.
