Barcelona, Bayern Munich Set To Battle In Champions League

The group stage draws of the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League was held Thursday evening in Istanbul, Turkey with Barcelona, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich and Viktoria Plzen making up Group C of the competition in what undoubtedly is the toughest group in the UEFA Champions League.

A clash between the Spanish and German giants, Barcelona and Bayern will also mark the return of Robert Lewandowski, who left the Munich outfit earlier in the year.

This will interestingly be the second straight season when Barcelona and Bayern Munich will face each other in the group stage. Barcelona had failed to make it past the group stage last year and went down into the UEFA Europa League

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and his Napoli teammates will face Liverpool, Rangers and Calvin Bassey’s Ajax in Group A.

Group B contains Zaidu Sanusi’s Porto, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Club Brugge

Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham Hotspur, Sporting CP, Olympique de Marseille make up Group D.

AC Milan, Chelsea, Salzburg and GNK Dinamo Zagreb are in Group E while champions Real Madrid was drawn in Group F with Germany’s RB Leipzig, Celtic FC and Ukrainian champion Shakhtar Donetsk.

Premier League champions Manchester City with Pep Guardiola in charge will face challenge from his former Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla in Group G. Denmark’s FC Copenhagen make up the group.

Billionaires Paris Saint Germain, Juventus, Benfica and Maccabi Haifa are housed in Group H.
