As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to make in-roads into the digital communication space with its disruptive tendencies, Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of the American multinational technology company, Amazon, has said it is strengthening its position in the AI landscape by making the adoption easier for enterprises.

Vice President of Amazon Web Services for Europe, Middle-East and Africa, Tanuja Randery, who addressed a teeming crowd of Tech enthusiasts at the just concluded #AWSSummit, London, said AWS is taking significant steps to become a major player in the AI space by being both the supplier and developer of AI tools.

In a keynote address, Randery said all the AI tools are about accelerating adoption technology and AWS was preparing itself to speed up AI adoption through its offerings.

She said AWS continues to position itself as the industry middleman with Bedrock, granting customers access to big-name models while also displaying its independence by showing off a powerful and thought-out solution.

One application, One Seamless Experience

Francesca Vasquez, vice president of professional services at AWS recounted times in human history, inventions and other technological innovations that led to the advent of cloud and Generative AI.

Ms. Vasquez said tech enthusiasts should expect to hear more of Amazon’s Bedrock ( AWS’s large language model) describing Generative AI as the hot topic still very much talked about in the Tech world.

Launched last month, the new AWS generative AI competency is the fastest-growing competency the cloud giant has ever launched. Debuting with 45 partners from 10 countries, there is a forecast that it will far exceed any other AWS competency to date.

Also speaking on Generative AI, AWS’s Principal CX specialist, Russell Yeates, simplified how customer experience could be easier with Amazon Connect, AWS’s AI-powered Contact that can forecast, has capacity planning and scheduling. He highlighted real-time caller authentication and conversational voice and chat Bots of the app including its real-time agent assist and conversational analytics, contact summarisation & quality management.

Russell explained some key considerations for Generative AI success as being easy to use with its in-built LLM capabilities to help get started while maintaining customer trust & compliance by the Human-in-the-loop controls for privacy, security and data trustworthiness. He mentioned Control costs and resource utilisation that leverages Generative AI for the high-value contact centre that uses cases and matches the most appropriate LLMs.

Speaking with some of the attendees, Pravin Kumar, a CTS…. Said the summit has been helpful in terms of networking & opportunities, especially for freshers in Developing backgrounds and cloud interest. Adding that the summit provided knowledgable insights and technological assistance to those seeking.

Another attendee, Williams, a Devop engineer described the summit as beneficial. He said it helped him address some issues he had, providing him with ideas and practical examples that have enabled him to connect with companies and vendors. Overall, he was satisfied.

Some of the vendors at the event, Fastly, Persistent, SMG Security group, Crowdstrike, Orca, Confluent, Rafay, Virtasant, Devoteam, Sumo Logic and a host of others were proud partners of AWS and each had had their tentacle at the event, swaying and luring onlookers to their tents with promises varying from free consultation, recruitment, AI-Driven enterprises, cloud acceleration and Built self-service automation.

Side Attractions

This conference was not without its razzle-dazzle, with sets and theatres mounted and an ever-helpful team of ushers signaling and indicating what hall held who and what to a flood of the crowd that just seemed endless.

About 10,000 people were in attendance, including some Tech engineers, Developers, Software Engineers, Solution experts, AI Innovators, Executives, Partners, Leads, sponsors and vendors. It was unarguably one of the biggest packed Tech conferences held. I chuckled on a joke I thought of, retorting that with this many Tech hotheads at the same place and at the same time, one can safely assume that the death cure might be built

The Summit had numerous side gigs, ranging from Raffle draws and gifts, sumptuous meals, branded souvenirs and stickers, merch, and games. Prizes like PS5, AirPodMax, and Apple Vision Pro were won by lucky winners of the raffle draw.

The evening session came more relaxed as there were drinks, live band music with festival lighting and a mounted stage, and a crowd yearning to be entertained. Formula 1 was part of the Summit’s partners and had a simulation of the race for attendees to enjoy and participate in.

The summit came to an official close at 5 pm.
