Angry Residents Beat Suspected Armed Robber To Death In Lagos

In a shocking turn of events, a suspected armed robber met his tragic end at the hands of irate residents in Olugboso, Agege Lagos.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when the unidentified suspect broke into the apartment of a resident named Victor.

Armed with a toy gun, the man whose name could not be ascertained at the time of this report attempted to carry out a robbery, but Victor quickly realized the gun was not real. Fearlessly, Victor confronted the intruder, leading to a fierce struggle between the two.

During the altercation, the robber stabbed Victor with a pair of scissors causing severe injury.

The noise of the struggle caught the attention of other tenants in the building, who rushed to Victor’s rescue. They managed to overpower the armed hoodlum and rescued Victor, who was in critical condition. The brave intervention of the co-tenants prevented further harm to Victor.

However, fueled by anger and a desire for justice, the angry residents took the matter into their own hands and unleashed their fury upon the suspect, beating him mercilessly. The assault proved fatal, as the suspect succumbed to the injuries by the angry residents and died.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that a pair of scissors and a toy gun were recovered from the deceased suspect. Victor, on the other hand, was swiftly rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment and is said to be responding positively.

The Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, striving to gather more information about the circumstances surrounding the attempted robbery and the subsequent mob attack.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities aim to bring back clarity and ensure justice for all parties involved.

This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by residents in Lagos and highlights the importance of swift police intervention to prevent such acts of violence.
