Amusan, Brume Arrive Team Nigeria’s Commonwealth Games Camp

The duo of Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume on Thursday lifted the mood in the Team Nigeria’s camp ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games which begins this night reports Prime Business Africa.

Following their exertions at the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, USA there had been fears that the ladies would not be able to make it into England on day 1 of the Games.

Amusan became the first Nigerian to win gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in its 40-year history when she won in 12.06 seconds in the 100m Hurdles while Brume claimed silver in the long jump event.

Both athletes breezed into the Commonwealth Games Birmingham(CGB) Games Village camp to a rousing welcome by officials and athletes alike.

Just like they did in USA, they are favourites to clinch gold in their different events as they did at the last Commonwealth Games they were part of.

Team Nigeria are expected to compete on none sporting events at the Commonwealth Games.
