In a recent interview on the renowned Afrobeats Podcast with media personality Adesope, Ajebo Hustlers recounted their early struggles and the bumpy road they travelled to achieve success.

They revealed how, in 2016, they found themselves squatting with K-Switch, a fellow artist, as they relentlessly pursued their dreams in Lagos.

The year 2017 brought little progress, but undeterred, they continued to push forward. Finally, in 2018, they caught a glimmer of hope.

However, success still eluded them, and they found themselves squatting in a humble abode while their music career hung in the balance.

During these trying times, Ajebo Hustlers faced discouragement from friends who advised them to quit music due to the seemingly insurmountable challenges they faced.

The duo shared the emotional turmoil they experienced, as friends questioned their decision to persist in a seemingly fruitless endeavour. It was a true test of their faith in themselves and their craft.

Inspiration struck when they created their breakout hit, ‘Barawo.’ The song was born from the awe-inspiring success of Burna Boy and Zlatan’s collaboration, ‘Killing Dem.’
