MultiChoice Nigeria, has announced plans to increase subscription fees for all its DStv and GOtv packages with effect from May 1, 2023.

The company made this known in a message sent to all their Nigerian customers on Tuesday.

The satellite television service firm said the price increase was due to the rising costs of business operations in the country.

“Please note that from May 1, your monthly subscription (premium) will be N24,500. To retain your old price of N21,000 for up to 12 months ensure you are active by April 30,” a message sent from the company to a customer using DSTv read.

With the new rates hike, subscribers of the Compact+ bouquet will now pay N16,600 instead of the current N14,250 monthly.

Those who subscribe to the Compact bouquet are expected to pay N10,500 as against N9,000; while those on the Confam package are to pay N6,200 compared to the previous N5,300.

Under the new price regime, subscribers of DStv Yanga and Padi bouquets will have to part with N3,500 and N2,500 respectively, as against N2,950 and N2,150.

Meanwhile, the price of the GOtv Supa package will move to N6,400 from N5,500. Subscribers of GOtv Max are expected to pay N4,850 as against N4,150.

More so, the GOtv Jolli package price will increase to N3,300 from N2,800; while that of the GOtv Jinja and GOtv Lite will rise from N1,900 to N2,250; and from N900 to N1,100, respectively.

The pay-per-view service firm offered some relief to customers as it said they can retain the old rates for 12 months if they are able to pay monthly before the expiration of their subscriptions.
