Family of late gospel singer Aduke Ajayi , also known as Aduke Gold have announced Friday August 23, 2024 as burial date even as the controversy over cause of death persists.

According to the obituary program released by the family, the candlelight procession will take place at Ayanfe Primary School at Idiagbon Bus Stop College Road, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ogba area of Lagos. There will be lying in state at the Lagos African Church Grammar School, College Bus Stop, College Road, Ifako-Ijaiye.
Meanwhile controversy over the real cause of her death has continued to persist. Initial reports suggests that the singer died while trying to remove fibroid via surgery, a report which brother of the decease Pastor Ajayi Aderogbo, dismissed stating instead that the unassuming singer with passsion for the well being and education of children,succumbed to cervical cancer, as confirmed by the death certificate from University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan
In a viral video, Pastor Aderogbo urged the public to verify information before spreading rumours, stressing that his sister’s death was due to her battle with cervical cancer and nothing more.

“Whoever is saying what is not should stop it, our daughter was ill, she had cervical cancer, she was taken to UCH in Ibadan and unfortunately, she died. The information spreading around is false”, he said.

Pastor Ajayi recalled with nostalgia how his late sister started her singing career and eventual stardorm that followed “She (Aduke Gold) started as a choir member in our church and rose to stardom. She was faithful and committed to our church, “he enthused, even as he hoped that confirmation of real reason for death will put paid to the controversy. He equally regretted that the singer who he described as not just a sister but a daughter passed on so early in life.
“I’m her elder brother and like a father to her because we’re from the same father but different mothers. I started nurturing her in 1993 after the death of our father and from secondary to university, but unfortunately, we experienced her sudden death”
Born on 16 March 1990, Aduke Gold bagged a History and International Relations degree from Lagos State University, supported by a scholarship. She was a passionate lover of Children and their education and grabbed every opportunity should could to impact positively on Children bringing to bear her wealth of experience and knowledge of child psychology.
