In a conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Skinny Girl in Transit actress Chioma Okoli opened up about an encounter with s3xual harassment in her pursuit of employment within the entertainment industry.
Recalling the unsettling incident, Okoli recounted how a prospective employer exploited her aspirations by using a promised job as leverage for s3xual favours. “Yes, I’ve experienced it,” she affirmed, echoing the unfortunate reality faced by many women in various industries.

“I tried to work with someone some time ago, and he invited me to his office,” Okoli began. “When I got there, he made me wait from afternoon until evening before attending to me.”

Despite the discomfort, Okoli maintained professionalism, only to find herself in a distressing situation when the man suggested moving their discussion to a more informal setting.
Upon relocating to a lounge, the situation escalated as the man made unwelcome advances, explicitly linking her job prospects to acquiescing to his demands.
“When we got to the lounge, he started scratching my hand. He said we were going to smash, and he would give me the job,” Okoli recounted, revealing the appalling nature of the proposition.
Reflecting on the encounter, Okoli expressed her dismay, emphasizing the audacity and disregard for professionalism exhibited by the individual.
“It was actually a job, not an acting gig. So yeah, I’ve had that experience, and I think he’s a very crazy guy because, some time ago, he was called out for fraud,” she shared, highlighting the disturbing behaviour and questionable ethics of the perpetrator.
