A fire outbreak in a 5-storey building in Johannesburg, one of the cities in South Africa has left 63 persons dead and dozens more injured, the country’s emergency services said.
According to report from South Africa 24, the fire which happened on Thursday morning, started from a burning candle in one of the apartments in the building.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelThe country’s Emergency Management Services spokesman, Robert Mulaudzi told reporters that huge part of the fire has been put out but huge smoke is still being seen around the building.
The spokesman said fire men have been dispatched to the area to bring the situation under control and that search and rescue mission is still on going.
According to South Africa News 24, Fire fighters in Johannesburg have responded to about 35 fires in the city only within the last 2 weeks.
