The management of the university has announced its intention to re-examine the student lists submitted by Prof. Ndifon to the Nigerian Law School over the past two years.

Prof. Ndifon’s suspension came after a thorough investigation into allegations of sexual harassment made by female students of the Faculty of Law. This action follows a pattern, as he faced similar allegations in 2015, which led to his arrest, detention, and suspension.
In an official letter dated August 17, 2023, Gabriel Egbe, the university’s registrar, conveyed the decision to suspend Prof. Ndifon, citing clear violations of the university’s established rules and policies.

The administration’s response signifies a commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring a safe environment for all students.
Prof. Obi shared, “Management resolved with the staff on the need for some basic changes to be effected in the faculty to avoid the continuous overbearing influence and power of any Dean of the Faculty of Law over the students.” This reflects a proactive approach to restructuring the faculty’s leadership dynamics to prevent the recurrence of such situations.
Among the measures being taken by the university are the establishment of a committee to oversee student mobilization to the Law School, a thorough review and potential recall of the student lists submitted by Prof. Ndifon, removal of the two examination officers from their positions, and the creation of a Result Vetting Committee.
Furthermore, Prof. Obi has called for an investigation into allegations of extortion reportedly committed by Prof. Ndifon.
If found guilty, he will be required to reimburse any improper payments collected from students under various pretexts. This additional step underscores the commitment of the university to address all aspects of misconduct thoroughly and transparently.
