Speaking on behalf of PBA staff, the Executive Assistant to the Publisher, Miss Loveth Ugwu, said the entire staff were so delighted to have Prof. Utomi back in good shape to continue with his various roles in the political, academic and economic space both in the country and at the global stage.

PBA’s Accountant, Mr Christopher Nkuma, led a prayer session for God to continue to grant Utomi the grace of good health, and longer life to be able to achieve all his goals.

Mr Nkuma stressed the need for one to remain faithful to God’s words despite the challenges and tribulations that could come in different forms, as the Creator does not fail in his promises.

He also prayed for the growth of the company.

Responding, Prof. Utomi thanked the PBA management for making out time to visit him, and for their prayers and good wishes.

While acknowledging the significant progress being made by the independent multimedia company in providing news and in-depth analysis of socioeconomic issues, Utomi challenged the staff to go out of their way in breaking new grounds in the art of information dissemination in line with public good.

He remarked that the advancement of digital technology has improved journalism to a great extent, but equally challenging and exciting.

He noted that the principles of ‘feed back and ‘right of reply’, which hitherto weren’t effective has been made easy in contemporary times with the advancement of information technology.

He stressed that journalism profession requires passion for one to make a positive impact and advised media professionals to see it as a service meant to give the public a voice, but must be done with utmost caution.
