Odua Ditches PDP For APC

THE lawmaker representing Anambra North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Stella Oduah, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to join the ruling All Progressives Congress.

The National Director, Publicity of the APC, Salisu Dambatta,  disclosed this in Abuja on Thursday in a statement titled, ‘Senator Stella Oduah dumps PDP, joins APC’.

Dambatta explained that the former Minister of Aviation was received at a brief ceremony in Abuja by the leadership of the APC.

He added that Oduah was admitted into the party by the Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, who is also the Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni.

He also said the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State,  Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, and the APC candidate in the November 6 Anambra governorship election 2021 election, Senator Andy Uba were at the occasion.

“Oduah is the latest of high-profile members of the former ruling party who joined the APC recently,” he said.

According to Dambatta,  Buni congratulated the defector for joining the APC and assured her of same rights as all other members of the party.

Oduah was quoted by the statement to have said she joined the APC family as part of the process of the changing political narrative in the South East.

She assured the APC leadership that she had “defected to the APC along with her multitude of supporters who have been jubilating in Anambra State.”
