NGX: Investors Gain N313bn As ASI Rebound By 0.70%

Shareholders Of Nigerian Breweries, Honeywell, Others Make N30 billion In Hours

The value of the Nigerian bourse grew by 0.12 per cent on Wednesday, adding about N30 billion to the market capitalisation.

Due to the growth, the market capitalisation increased to N26.37 trillion from N26.34 trillion at the end of trading.

Also, the All-Share Index increased by 59.8 basis points, appreciating from 48,366.69 ASI to to 48,426.49.  

Investment fell on Wednesday to 146.20 million shares, which was exchanged in 2,810 deals worth N3.35 billion. 

It was in contrast to the 184.65 million shares traded in 3,486 deals, valued at N3.57 billion on Tuesday.

Top five gainers

Thomas share appreciated by 10 per cent to rise from N0.40kobo to N0.44kobo per share

Japaul Gold grew by 7.41 per cent, up from N0.27kobo to N0.29kobo per share

Honeywell Flour ended trading with N2.42kobo from N2.28kobo per share, rising by N0.14kobo.

May & Baker gained N0.20kobo to end trading at N4, having opened with N3.80kobo

Nigerian Breweries stock was up by N1.70kobo closing with N38.50kobo from N36.80kobo per share.

Top five losers

SCOA depreciated by 9.38 per cent, dwindling from N0.96kobo to N0.87kobo per share. 

Unity Bank also fell by 7.02 per cent to end trading at N0.53kobo, after opening with N0.57kobo per share.    

Cornerstone followed the same path, losing 6.25 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.45kobo from N0.48kobo per share.  

Courtville reported a decline of 6 per cent from previous day’s share price of N0.50kobo to end trading at N0.47kobo per share.

Chams share depreciated to N0.22kobo from N0.23kobo, after losing 4.35 per cent during trading hours.

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

FBN Holdings reported 59.27 million shares valued at N639.97 million were traded on its floor

Geregu recorded 14.27 million shares valued at N1.53 billion

Zenith Bank saw investors trade 12.51 million of its shares valued at N275.68 million

Sterling Bank recorded 7.02 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N9.68 million

UBA reported 6.91 million shares valued at N50.45 million exchanged investors’ hands.
