Petroleum Consumption Leaps To 340m Litres In One Month – NNPC

Figures released by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has shown that the consumption of petroleum in Nigeria has increased by 340 million litres within a space of one month.

According to data contained in its March 2021 financial and operations report, the government’s oil firm said 1.75 billion litres of petroleum was consumed in March 2021.

The NNPC’s earlier report in February showed that the consumption in February 2021 was 1.41bn litres.

A clear line showed that within February and March 2021, consumption of petroleum in Nigeria leaped by 340million litres.

NNPC disclosed that March 2021 report has shown the total revenue generated from the sale of white products for the period of March 2020 to March 2021 stood at N2.13trn, where petrol contributed about 99.24% of the total sales with a value of N2.11trn.

The report also said that Petroleum Producing Marketing Company had recorded N234.63bn revenue from the sale of white products in March 2021 alone.

In the gas sector, the report showed that a total of 222.74bn cubic feet of natural gas was produced in the month of March 2021, translating to an average daily production of 7.183.33million standard cubic feet per day.
