Flamingos Play Colombia In Wednesday’s U-17 Women’s World Cup Semifinals Clash

Nigeria’s U-17 female team, The Flamingos, will lock horns with Colombia in the semi-final of the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India on Wednesday.

Nigeria defeated USA 4-3 via penalty shoot-out on Friday to book their place in the semi-finals. The game was forced into penalty shoot-out after the 90 minutes of good football ended 1-1.

Meanwhile, Colombia defeated Africa’s other representative, Tanzania, 3-0, in Saturday evening’s quarter-final tie.

The semi-final clash between Nigeria and Colombia will kick off 12 noon, Nigerian time (on Wednesday), 26 October.

Interestingly, Flamingos have won all their games scheduled for 12 noon in the ongoing tournament. The only  match in which they lost to Germany was  kicked off at  3.30 p.m. Nigerian time.

In the second semi-finals pairing, Germany#, who beat Brazil 2-0 on Friday, will face Spain.

Spain had come from behind to beat Japan 2-1 in a Saturday quarter final match  that was adjudged ‘very action-packed.’
