Ndidi had played in central defence in their last two games due injury problems that bedeviled the Foxes but reverted back to his defensive midfield role on Saturday in a double pivot alongside Youri Tielemans.

Tielemans scored a sixth minute penalty after two attempts with the first, a save from Hugo Lloris overruled after players encroached inside the penalty box.

Spurs scored two quickfire goals through headers by Harry Kane and Eric Dier before James Maddison scored a beautiful half volley four minutes to half time.

Rodrigo Bentancur dispossessed Ndidi of the ball before unleashing an unstoppable shot from distance.

The Korean repeated the trick with a shot that nestled into the top left corner. He then cpleted his hat-trick afterwards after the VAR cobford he had not strayed offside.

Ndidi was replaced by Boubakary Soumare while Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench towards the end of the game. He had a decent effort to score wh ich he missed.
