The 2022 BETS Awards was held late Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles with Nigeria music sensation, Ayo Balogun (Wizkid) winning the Best Collaboration award for his hit song ‘Essence’ featuring fellow Nigerian, Tems along with Justin Bieber Prime Business Africa reports today.

Tems won for herself the award for the ‘Best International Act’ at the glittering event.

Puff Diddy was handed a lifetime achievement award while Jazmine Sullivan bagged the award for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Lil Baby X Kirk Franklin won Dr Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award.

The BET Awards celebrates Black excellence in music, culture and sports.

Taraji P. Henson took over the hosting duties for the night and she didn’t shy away from addressing the recent US Supreme Court’s decision to reverse the Roe v. Wade ruling. She criticized the court’s decision and spoke for women’s rights.

Jazmine Sullivan bagged the award for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Lil Baby X Kirk Franklin won Dr Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award.
