Prime Business Africa can exclusively report that the protest by some people over missing list of Anambra State delegates early Wednesday morning in the ongoing 2022 APC Special National Convention at the Eagle Square in Abuja was caused by two factions of the party in the state.

Prior to the national convention, Prime Business Africa learnt there had been cold war between Senator Andy Ubah and the minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige for control of the party structure in the state. This led to creation of two separate delegate lists and the scramble for which one to be adopted.

Prime Business Africa gathered that the APC national leadership recognized the delegates’ list from Andy Ubah camp.

It appears that separate delegates arrived from the State which led to some people protesting that their names were missing in the available delegate list for the state. This ostensibly, is a consequence of self interests from both sides.

It was, however, resolved and list of delegates recognized by the party as the authentic delegates were given the voting cards to participate in the exercise.

Meanwhile, voting continued afterwards with the sorting and counting of the votes as well on Wednesday morning.

Similar incidents of factions in the party were witnessed in Akwa, Ibom and Taraba States.
