Hours after All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was served ‘breakfast’ at the presidential villa, a video of him have surfaced online where he claimed he made Buhari who he is today.
Tinubu made this bold claim while speaking to delegates in Ogun state on Thursday, June 2nd ahead of APC primaries scheduled to hold 6th June and 8th June 2022.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelIn the part of the video which surfaced online Tinubu spoke wholly in Yoruba language. It is transcribed thus “ If not for me standing before you today, with my concerted effort, that I strongly said to Buhari ‘let’s match on’, he wouldn’t have been president.
“He tried the first time, he lost, the second he lost, and the third, same thing. He lamented on the National television saying never in his life will he run for presidency again.
“Afterwards I met him to encourage him. I told him this is not a matter of lamentation, I’ll support you and you’ll win. This is given that you will have the best interest of the Yoruba nation at heart and he accepted . Since he became the president, I was neither made a minister, nor got contract.”
Figuratively, Tinubu added, “ I didn’t beg for soup, neither garri, nor Fura and I didn’t beg for loan.”
The former governor of Lagos State further said now is the turn of the Yoruba nation to have the presidency seat, and he is next in line. “Even at that, a child I nurtured and protected also said he wants to become the president. I do not want my history changed,” Tinubu added.
The video has sparked many reactions online by Nigerians as he also said he made Dapo Abiodun the Governor of Ogun State, and he can not deny.
The hit that comrade Adams oshomole God in edo state during the last governor election is beginning to affect Tinuvu. I feel desperation in his body language. I think godfatherism has reached its peak in this country. The crack that we talked about in the party APC. Is getting very very real. Is just a matter of time. He should go and sit down, if he is not careful. He might lose his grip on Lagos.
