Jurgen Klopp described his Liverpool players as “mentality monsters” after they defeated Chelsea on penalties in the FA Cup final at Wembley stadium Saturday evening.

Klopp was full of praise for his players after he won the FA Cup for the first time — adding to the Premier League, Champions League, League Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup he had already won at Anfield.
Klopp said: “I’m really proud of my boys. We are mentality monsters but there were mentality monsters in Chelsea colours as well — it was one penalty.
“Chelsea played outstanding but in the end there must be one winner and that was us today.”
Klopp’s opposite rival Thomas Tuchel said his side had no regrets following their third consecutive FA Cup final defeat.
“Like in the last final, the League Cup, no regrets. I told the team I was proud,” said Tuchel.
“We played 240 minutes in two finals against maybe the most dangerous attacking team in the world and it’s 0-0.
“I was sure during the match the momentum was on our side but unfortunately I was not right.”
Liverpool and Chelsea played out a goalless 120 minutes of football at Wembley which led to the final being settled on penalties.
Klopp’s men won the shootout 6-5 as Cesar Azpilicueta and Mason Mount missed for Chelsea while Sadio Mane failed to score from the spot for the triumphant Liverpool.
